Erik owns OV!
Erik Carlsson owned OV all night...
Alex was very good...
#17 the drifter...
drift it back to the other guys in the corner when we have some offensive pressure in the last few seconds of the PP...
drift off your coverage out to the blue line when you should be holding the off side post for your goalie...
drift back in and not cover the wrap around...
drift back out of position and have to take the tripping penalty...
drift it down for icing when ya got winger breaking into free ice...
drift it wide of the net everytime to the point where everyone in the rink knows you are going there...
drift into the corner and try to stick check some small forward when you should be using your 6'3" 230 lbs body to crush the kid...
drifting left when OV goes through your legs and by you on the right...
drifting the final shot of the night away up on the glace, no chance...

ReplyDelete#17 is a pylon. Problem is, if #55 is out with a bruised foot, #17 isn't going up to the press box (where he belongs) any time soon.
Why can't Erik play defence like that ALL the time - his best game this year. What he lacks in size, he makes up in brains (when he uses it).
Vokoun beat us tonite, no one else.
Spezza's goal should have counted - #9 was pushed into the crease.
Z-bad is writing his ticket back to Sweden - especially if #21 keeps tearing up the A.
Lastly, surprising how the kids shored up the defence once #55 left the game. #2 - steady as she goes. #7 - that wrister from the blue line will pay dividends - he's getting use to the speed.

ReplyDeleteAgree, the kids are alright.
If I gotta watch #17, I'm goin' to complain about it every night.
